Mixing, mastering and recording in Corvallis, OR, and remotely

Let's make your mix hit a little harder.

I mix, master and record music, and I'm happy to just talk a project through. Music is an act of service to me, so the first thing I'll ask is what you want your song to do.

What I do

These are starting prices. I’ll send you a fixed quote before anything starts.

Mixing

You send me your tracks. I find out what you want the song to do, then shape the mix to get it there.

  • Up to 48 tracks, and we can talk if you have more
  • 2 rounds of revisions
  • First version within 2 weeks

Mastering

The final polish before release, meant to catch any loose ends. Done well, it's subtle.

  • Single track or full EP/album
  • I can work from a reference track if you want
  • WAV and streaming-ready MP3

Recording Sessions

Record vocals or instruments in my home studio. We put down a scratch version of each part first, then refine from there.

  • Multitracks and a rough bounce the same week
  • Solo artists and small groups here, full bands at a rented studio
  • Vocal coaching over video if you're recording at home

Production Consultation

An hour on a call, going through your project together. Good for a stuck mix, an arrangement that isn't working, or a second opinion.

  • 60-minute video call
  • Written notes afterward
  • Worth doing before you pay for a full mix

Mixing + Mastering Bundle

Book both together and it costs a little less. It's simpler and cheaper than hiring two people.

  • About 10% less than booking them separately
  • One person to deal with from start to finish
  • A separate mastering engineer is still the ideal, if your budget allows

Why work with me

  • You'll hear your version

Everything's worth a try. If you send a note I disagree with, I'll give you your version and mine, and you can decide.

  • Audio is my day job

I work in live podcast production for local small businesses, so I spend my days balancing voices and tracking down problems while the show is running.

  • You get a price first

You get a quote before I start, and 2 rounds of revisions are included on every mix. I also check every mix on the car, phone, laptop, TV soundbar and a little Bluetooth speaker.

How a project runs

Quotes are free, and asking for one doesn't commit you to anything.
  1. Tell me about it

How many tracks, when you need it, and what you want it to sound like. Send a reference song or two if you have them, and I'll ask what you like about them.

  2. Get a quote

I'll send a price and a timeline. If it looks good, a 50% deposit holds your spot.

  3. Mix and revise

You'll get a first version within 2 weeks. You send notes, and we go 2 rounds like that. Then you get final files, ready to upload.

Questions

Don’t see yours? Ask me directly.
Who have you worked with?

This is a new business for me, so I don't have a list of clients yet. I've mixed my own releases and projects with friends, and I do audio for a living in podcast production. My first 5 mixing clients pay $125 a song instead of $175, in exchange for a testimonial and permission to show the work.

What's your turnaround?

You'll have a first version of a mix within 2 weeks, and I can often go quicker if you need it. For an EP or album, we'll agree on a timeline before I start.

How many revisions do I get?

2 rounds on every mix, included in the price. A round is one list of notes sent together. Extra rounds are $35 each. A re-recorded part or a changed arrangement is new work, and I'll quote it first.

Do you work remotely?

Yes. You can send me your tracks from anywhere. For recording, you can come to the studio in Corvallis, or I can coach you through recording vocals at home over video.

What will it cost?

Mixing starts at $175 a song, mastering at $60 a track, and recording at $75 an hour. The real number depends on how many tracks there are and how soon you need it, so I'll quote it first. It's 50% up front and the rest before I send final files.

Do you work with a cappella groups?

Yes, and that includes OSU groups. I directed On the Rocks at the University of Oregon, arranged for the group, and helped produce the vocals on our album In the Groove. I can help with arrangements, teaching parts and producing vocals. Tell me what your group is working on.

What do you deliver?

WAV and MP3 files of every mix and master. Stems or multitracks can be added on. After a recording session, you get your multitracks and a rough bounce the same week.

Got a song ready?

Tell me how many tracks, when you need it, and what you want it to sound like. I’ll send a quote within 2 business days.
